OVERVIEW OF ECUADOR
Ecuador is located in northwestern South America, the equator and divides it into two hemispheres. Bordered by Colombia to the north, south and east by Peru and the west by the Pacific Ocean. There are four geographic regions: Costa, Sierra, Amazon and Galapagos. It is divided administratively into 22 provinces. The extension of the country is 256,370 square kilometers. Its population exceeds 12.5 million.
